On permanent display at Fiber Optic Center, Inc., New Bedford, Massachusetts

This installation is permanently integrated into the top floor conference area of a high tech business housed in an 1820 former whaling fleet provisioning warehouse. Using the old windlass and support beams, 200 feet of line run through guides and whirligigs to alternately raise and lower sculptures at each end of the room as the drive wheel is turned by hand. The opposing sculptures contain objects from the whaling era at one end, and from the contemporary uses of the building at the other.
