Silver Maple Wall Hanging

When a 112 year old silver maple tree in my city died from insect attack, its owners asked that I make them useful artistic items by which they would remember the tree, which had been on the family property for generations. The owners had selected huge hunks of the tree delivered to my studio. Using the very base of the trunk, I created this wall hanging.
