On permanent display at the cirulation desk, Homer Babbage Library, University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT

Each surface is carved following the growth layer of the wood from which it was carved. All the ripples are natural formations. The pencil is also carved, with the "lead" being ebony, and the "chewed eraser" being oak. The rest is maple.
