The set of vases shown below were created to capture symbollically the essential personalities of a family. When completed, I was asked to create a mantel on which to display the vases, but the owners didn't want it to be just another surface that would collect junk. I created a mantel from cherry that appears to be twisted vines or woven branches, with lots of irregular surfaces and negative spaces. It's about 7 feet from end to end.
