Artemis

Artemis was carved from a single walnut log. This intuitive piece was carved without any advanced notion or precondition, and evolved over months to its final form. As I worked, the piece seemed more and more female, and took on a sort of history, as if a broken statue from antiquity. With that in mind I thought it appropriate to place it on a Greek-style column, also made from walnut. Artemis stands 6 feet tall.
