Homage to Angry Birds

I am addicted to the popular phone and tablet game, Angry Birds. I also love carving butterflies. Somehow, the two images merged in this piece.

As is often the case, I carved the butterfly wings, using curly maple, along the growth rings of the tree from which the wood came. All the curves and ripples are the natural growth of the tree in that year. Mounted on grey fabric. Fifteen inches square. Ready to hang.
